If you live in the United States or other nations where freedom of speech is a right for citizens, you probably understand what an important freedom this is. Freedom of speech gives citizens the right to speak their opinions and express their ideas without being censored.
With freedom of speech, individuals and organizations won’t have to worry about retaliation by the government for expressing their own opinions and ideas.
However, don’t be fooled. Freedom of speech doesn’t mean that you can say anything. There are certain limits to freedom of speech, including but not limited to libel, slander, incitement, copyright violation, trade secrets, and perjury.
Unfortunately, though, not every nation gets to enjoy this freedom. However, there are many nations that acknowledge that freedom of speech is a right and allows its people to speak their opinions and voice their ideas freely.
