Best States To Raise A Family 2020

Many people that settle down to have a family want to find the best place to raise their children. Some people move from the busy city to the more relaxed suburbs or rural areas. Others move from states with high costs of living to ones that are more affordable in terms of cost-of-living and college tuition prices.

There isn’t a universal way to determine which states are the best for raising a family. After all, you could probably find people from all 50 states that would tout the benefits of raising a family within their own states. However, a new study from MoneyRates.com examines a few different factors to determine which states are the highest ranked for raising a family.

This study took a look at different factors including college tuition expenses, the overall cost of living, as well as access to child-friendly amenities such as parks and libraries.

According to this study, Utah is the best state to raise a family. This is primarily due to its low college tuition costs, which are the third lowest in the nation. Utah is also one of the safest states due to a low occurrence of violent crimes, and the state is home to a variety of family-friendly amenities.

Coming in second is the state of Wyoming, which has the cheapest public college tuition rates in the entire nation for in-state students. This state also has a low rate of violent crime and a general low cost of living.

New Jersey, despite its high cost of living, is the third best state for raising a family based on this study. New Jersey has many family-friendly neighborhoods and amenities and excellent school systems.

Virginia is also near the top of the list at fourth place. Even though its college tuition rates are higher than many other states, factors including low rates of violent crime, quality childhood education, and children’s health programs make this one of the best states for raising a family.

In fifth place in the study is Idaho. This state is one of the safest for raising children and also offers low tuition rates for college. However, one thing to note is that there aren’t as many family-friendly amenities as there are in other top-ranking states.

These are the top five states for raising a family in the United States. Other states that ranked highly in this study include:
