[Micronesia](https://www.britannica.com/place/Micronesia-republic-Pacific-Ocean) is an island nation in Oceania, which is a region of the world comprised of four different subregions. Located in the western part of the Pacific Ocean, Micronesia is made up of thousands upon thousands of little islands. This island nation is made up of three territories - Guam, Wake Island, and the Northern Mariana Islands - as well as five nations, including Palau, Kiribati, Nauru, the Marshall Islands, and the Federated States of Micronesia. The Federated States of Micronesia is a country within the region of Micronesia.
The GPS coordinates of Micronesia are made up of two points: a latitude of 7.4256° N and a longitude of 150.5508° E. Situated above the equatorial plane, Micronesia can be found in the northern hemisphere and the eastern hemisphere.
In the north, Micronesia extends as far as a latitude of 10°05' N. This point is part of a coral reef, called Ulithi, in the Pacific Ocean. As a coral atoll, Ulithi is part of Micronesia’s Caroline Islands archipelago. Micronesia’s southernmost extremity is found at a latitude of 01°01' N, on the coral atoll of Kapingamarangi.
The easternmost point of Micronesia is on the island of Kosrae. There are four primary federated states and this island, in particular, belongs to the state of Kosrae. The coordinate of the eastern point of extremity in Micronesia is 163°01' E. To the west, the furthest point of Micronesia is part of the Caroline Islands archipelago, just like the northernmost point of the country. The most extreme western point of Micronesia has a longitudinal coordinate of 137°30' E. This point is located in the Yap State District of Micronesia.
The total area of the country is only 271 square miles in all. Micronesia is up of seven different countries, and its population size is a total of 534,464 people. These people are scattered across Palau, Nauru, Guam, Kiribati, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Altogether, these areas account for approximately 0.01% of the entire world’s population. The subregion of Micronesia is the fourth most populated of all subregions in the world.
