  • Reserved nuclear weapons are those weapons currently in storage and not deployed on launchers, but not scheduled to be dismantled.
  • Deployed strategic warheads are those deployed on intercontinental missiles and at heavy bomber bases.
  • Deployed nonstrategic warheads are those deployed on bases with operational short-range delivery systems.
  • Total Inventory includes warheads in the other categories as well as warheads that are retired and in the queue for dismantlement, but are still intact.
  • 2025 data was last updated June 12, 2025. Current counts may differ.
