Ladakh

A high-altitude region in northern India, part of the larger Kashmir region. The area features the Karakoram and Himalayan mountain ranges, high-altitude deserts, alpine lakes, and deep valleys carved by the Indus River. The extreme elevation and arid climate have created a stark landscape of snow-capped peaks and cold desert plateaus.
