Coffee Production by State 2026

Coffee production in the United States is primarily concentrated in the state of Hawaii. With its unique climate and volcanic soil, Hawaii’s islands offer exceptional conditions for growing coffee. The state’s coffee industry is especially renowned for its Kona coffee, which is cultivated on the slopes of the Mauna Loa volcano on the Big Island. The elevation, rainfall patterns, and rich soil of the volcanic slopes create an optimal environment for coffee cultivation, resulting in high-quality beans with distinctive flavors. While coffee production occurs in other states like California and Puerto Rico, Hawaii stands out as the primary producer, showcasing the significance of its agricultural landscape in the coffee industry.
