Because of its beautiful coasts and many landmarks, Port Macquarie is a popular tourist destination. Additionally, the koala breeding center and Billabong Zoo offers interesting and educational experiences - including petting and holding a variety of exotic animals.
Despite its small population now, though, Port Macquarie is predicted to become one of the fastest-growing cities in New South Wales. It is estimated that the population will almost reach 60,000 by the year 2027.
