Laval is a city that is located in the province of Quebec, which is part of Canada. It is Montreal’s largest suburb, as well as the largest city in Quebec. It is also the 13th largest city in the country. Population data from 2016 show that the city’s population was 422,993.

The city covers a total area of 247.23 square kilometers (95.46 square miles), which brings the current population density to about 1,710.9 residents per square kilometer (4,431 people living per square mile).

The city has seen steady population growth since the early 1900s, most recently posting population growth of 5.3% between Censuses taken in 2011 and 2016, with no signs of slowing in the near future.
