Many countries produce luxury car brands. However, Germany and the United Kingdom produce the most luxury car brands. German luxury automakers are Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Maybach, and Bugatti, a luxury brand owned by Volkswagen. Luxury brands produced in the United Kingdom include Aston Martin, Lagonda, Bentley, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, and McLaren.
Other European countries are the base for several luxury automakers. For example, Italian luxury automakers include Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati, and Pagani. Swedish automakers produce the Koenigsegg, Volvo, and SSC. The Netherlands is the base of the sports luxury brand Spyker, and the Czech Republic is the home of high-end variants of Škoda. The Hispano Suiza brand is based in Spain, and the Bugatti and DS Automotive brands are built in France. Switzerland is home to the Rinspeed, which specializes in innovative vehicles.
Although European countries account for most luxury car brands, other countries also have luxury automakers. The United States claims Cadillac, Lincoln, Chrysler, and Tesla, an all-electric car manufacturer. Japanese automakers produce the Acura, Infiniti, and Lexus. China is home to the Hongqi, NIO, and XPeng brands. XPeng and NIO manufacture electric cars. The FAW Car Company owns Honggi, the country's first passenger car manufacturer.
Turkey is home to the Türkiye'nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu, also known as TOGG, a brand founded in 2018 to produce all-electric cars.
South Korea produces Genesis, while the United Arab Emirates produces Devel Sixteen, which it claims is the fastest car in the world, and W Motors, another luxury sports car brand. Canada's luxury brand is Conquest Vehicles, which has a flagship, hand-built luxury SUV known as the Knight XV. Russia is home to the Aurus brand. Aurus Motors started as a luxury motorcade brand and produced its first civilian vehicle, the Senat, in 2021.
