Pea production in the United States showcases a regional distribution with certain states emerging as key contributors. In 2023, Montana stood out as the leading pea producer, yielding an impressive 9.9 million tons. Known for its vast agricultural lands and favorable climate conditions, Montana's fertile soil and temperate weather provide an ideal environment for pea cultivation.

Following Montana, North Dakota ranks second in pea production, boasting a yield of 6 million tons. With its expansive farmlands and dedication to agricultural innovation, North Dakota plays a significant role in meeting the nation's demand for peas. Washington also emerges as a notable contributor, producing 1.2 million tons of peas. The state's diverse agricultural landscape, ranging from the fertile valleys to the irrigated regions, supports the cultivation of peas alongside other crops.

Nebraska, Idaho, and South Dakota also contribute to pea production, albeit to a lesser extent.
