1. Kansas

Kansas is a state in the Midwestern United States. It was named after the Kansas River, which was named after the Kansas Native Americans who lived along its banks. Kansas is bordered by Nebraska to the north, Oklahoma to the south, Missouri to the east, and Colorado to the west. Kansas has an area of 82,278 square miles and a population of 2,940,865. The capital of Kansas is Topeka.

2. Nebraska

Nebraska is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. Nebraska is bordered by South Dakota to the north, Kansas to the south, Iowa to the east, and Missouri to the southeast. The state has an area of over 77,220 square miles with a population of 1,934,408. The state's capital Lincoln.

3. North Dakota

North Dakota is a US state located in the upper Midwestern region of the country. It was named after the indigenous tribes of Dakota Sioux and Lakota. North Dakota is bordered by the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan to the north, South Dakota to the south, Minnesota to the east, and Montana to the west. North Dakota has an area of 70,704 and a population of 763,724. The state's capital city is Bismarck.

4. South Dakota

South Dakota is also located in the upper Midwestern region of the United States. The state is bordered by North Dakota to the north, Montana to the northwest, Nebraska to the south, Iowa to the southeast, Minnesota to the east, and Wyoming to the west. South Dakota has an area of about 77,116 square miles and a population of 896,581. The state's capital is Pierre.

5. Colorado

Colorado is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western part of the United States. It is bordered by Wyoming to the north, New Mexico to the south, Nebraska to the northeast, Arizona to the southwest, Kansas to the east, and Utah to the west. The state has an estimated area of 104,094 and a population of 5,893,634. The capital of Colorado is Denver.

6. Iowa

Iowa is located in the Midwestern region of the United States. It is bordered by Wisconsin to the northeast, Illinois to the east, Missouri to the south, Nebraska to the west, South Dakota to the northwest, and Minnesota to the north. Iowa has an estimated area of 55,857 square miles and a population of 3,190,369. The state's capital is Des Moines.

7. Minnesota

Minnesota is a state in the upper Midwestern region of the United States. It's bordered by the Canadian provinces Ontario and Manitoba to the north, Iowa to the south, North and South Dakota to the west, and Wisconsin to the east. Missouri is located in the Midwestern region of the United States. Montana is a state located in the Mountain West subregion of the Western region of the United States. 10. New Mexico

New Mexico is a state located in the Southwestern region of the United States. It is bordered by Colorado to the north, Oklahoma to the northeast, the Mexican states of Sonora and Chihuahua to the south, Arizona to the west, and Texas to the east and southeast. New Mexico has an area of 121,590 square miles and an estimated population of 2,117,522. The capital city of New Mexico is Santa Fe.

11. Oklahoma

Oklahoma is located in the South Central region of the United States. The state is bordered by Kansas to the north, Texas to the south and west, Arkansas to the east, New Mexico to the west, Missouri to the northeast, and Colorado to the northwest. Oklahoma covers an area of 69,898 square miles and an estimated population of 3,963,516. Oklahoma City is the capital of Oklahoma.

12. Texas

Texas is located in the south-central region of the United States. It is the second-largest US state by both area and population. The state is bordered by Oklahoma to the north, Louisiana to the east, New Mexico t the west, Arkansas to the northeast, and the Mexican states of Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Tamaulipas, and Chihuahua to the south and southwest. Texas covers an area of 268,596 square miles and an estimated population of 29,145,505. Austin is the capital city of Texas.

13. Wyoming

Wyoming is a state located in the Mountain West subregion of the Western region of the United States. It is bordered by Montana to the north and northwest, Utah to the southwest, Colorado to the south, Nebraska and South Dakota to the east, and Idaho to the west. The state covers a total area of 97,914 square miles and has an estimated population of 576,851. Wyoming's capital city is Cheyenne.
