The city also boasts a multi-story hotel, restaurants, and other buildings that were built during the 1990s. The city’s economy is reliant upon the finance and commercial sectors and industries including processed food, textiles, and lumber.
Accra has seen its population grow throughout the years, primarily because of immigration. However, decentralization is expected to reduce migration rates, which could have an impact on future population growth. Still, the city has a high number of young residents, and this trend is not expected to slow.
