The country with the longest official name is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Commonly known as the United Kingdom, or simply, the UK - it has had one of the most well-recorded histories on the planet. The UK also has the city with the longest name in Europe, which is a small city in Wales called Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. Although difficult to pronounce, the town is located in northern Wales, by the coast, and home to only a few thousand citizens, who enjoy the peaceful and quiet lifestyle there.
the UK spans the globe, and many countries are still considered under its influence, as being part of a former "commonwealth". The most commonly spoken language throughout the world is English, mainly due to numerous colonies and conquests throughout thousands of years in history. Currently, the United Kingdom is only home to England, Wales, Scotland, and the northern part of Ireland. The country had been split in two during a revolution, mainly because of the differences between the Catholic and Protestant faiths.
Macedonia has always had an important place in antiquity. This was the birthplace of Alexander the Great, who is known as the only conqueror in history to have never lost a battle, and conquered most of the known world. Another prominent figure was Mother Teresa, who was born in the city of Uskub - now named Skopje and sits as the capital of North Macedonia.
The official name has been contested for many years, but Greece and Macedonia officially signed a document in 2019 that ended the back and forth on the subject. Since then, it has been officially recognized as the Republic of North Macedonia. This has traditionally been a problem throughout the years, as there have been various land disputes and arguments over historical figures and decencies. Europe's history can be traced back thousands of years, and many countries still argue and fight over once-ancestral lands, a problem that is not felt by other countries that have only risen in the past few hundred years.
Despite its proximity to Greece, the people of the Republic of North Macedonia officially speak Macedonian. It is more similar to Bulgarian than Greek and uses the Cyrillic alphabet - which is said to have derived itself from Greek.
The Federal Republic of Germany, or simply Germany, is tied with the Republic of Macedonia for the 2nd longest official name in Europe. Germany has had a completely troubled past, with its regime-changing many times over. Once known as Prussia, it began as an empire and slowly changed course to fascism and socialism, eventually plunging the world into two catastrophic world wars. After the conflicts had ended, Germany was split into East and West, which was not only physically troublesome but provided a psychological nightmare.
Despite all of its troubles, it somehow has become the most developed country in Europe, sometimes being called the economic backbone.
