Airsoft Gun Laws by State 2026

Airsoft guns are toy-style guns, often used in recreational activities, which fire spherical projectiles of plastic, biodegradable resin, or other material at non-lethal velocities. Iowa has a preemption law that prohibits the enactment of local laws on firearms; however, airsoft guns are not covered by this law. Concealing an airsoft gun without its orange tip is also illegal and can result in serious consequences.

Kansas

Airsoft guns are legal to own and use in most parts of Kansas, so long as they have an orange blaze top on the barrel. However, there are a few restrictions to be aware of.
