Latvian Population by State 2024

Latvian Americans are present in all 50 states of the United States, with varying degrees of representation. The state with the highest percentage of Latvians is the District of Columbia, where they account for 0.08% of the population. Other states with higher percentages of Latvians include Massachusetts (0.06%), Connecticut (0.05%), New Jersey (0.05%), and New York (0.04%). In terms of total numbers, California has the largest Latvian American community with 9,878 individuals, followed by Florida with 4,733 and New York with 8,515.

In some states, Latvians represent a relatively small percentage of the population but still have a significant presence in absolute numbers. For instance, in Texas, Latvians make up only 0.007% of the population, but there are still 2,275 Latvian Americans living in the state. Similarly, in Pennsylvania, Latvians represent only 0.03% of the population, but there are over 3,384 individuals who identify as Latvian. Overall, Latvian Americans are dispersed throughout the country and have established communities in many states.
