Macedonian Americans are most heavily concentrated in Michigan, where they make up 0.125% of the population or 12,501 individuals. Other states with relatively large Macedonian American populations include New Jersey (6,650 or 0.072%), New York (12,060 or 0.062%), Indiana (4,211 or 0.061%), and Illinois (6,221 or 0.050%). In many other states, however, the percentage of Macedonian Americans is less than 0.01%.
In Alaska, for example, Macedonian Americans account for just over 0.03% of the population, or 237 people. Similarly, in Idaho and Washington, the percentage of Macedonian Americans is just over 0.007%. The smallest percentage can be found in New Hampshire, where Macedonian Americans make up only 0.0002% of the population or three individuals. In some states, there are no recorded Macedonian Americans, such as Mississippi.
