Skydiving Age Limit by State 2025

Minimum Age Required to Skydive

18
  • All data pertains to outdoor skydiving from an aircraft in flight. Indoor skydiving is a different activity and may be permitted for guests as young as three years old.
  • All United States Parachute Association (USPA) member dropzones in the US are restricted from hosting guests under the age of 18 regardless of parental consent.
  • USPA-member dropzones are also authorized to set an older age limit, such as 21, if they so desire.
  • Dropzones that are not USPA members are permitted at their discretion to accommodate guests aged 16 or 17 with parental consent, but must also adhere to the age limits on the skydiving equipment in use.
  • Individuals under the age of 18 who have a terminal illness may be granted clearance to take a “Make a Wish” tandem jump, though this requires significant planning and approval paperwork.
  • There is no maximum age limit for skydiving. In 2019, a 103-year-old woman made a successful tandem jump.
