Vodka is one of the most popular types of alcohol in the world. A lot of people enjoy vodka because it is clear and smooth; however, there are some countries that consume more vodka than others. Vodka is native to Russia, even though there are lots of countries on Earth that make vodka, so it should come as no surprise that Russia consumes more vodka than any other country on Earth. It has been estimated that Russia consumes approximately 17 shots per person per month, which is significantly higher than other countries on the list. Even though there are some people who don't drink at all, there are other people in Russia who drink heavily, leading to a very high average.
There are several other countries that also consume a significant amount of vodka every month. Poland, which is relatively close to Russia, also consumes a lot of vodka. It is estimated that people in Poland consume approximately 13 shots of vodka per person per month. Ukraine also consumes a lot of vodka. Ukraine shares a very large border with Russia, and it is estimated that Ukraine consumes approximately 10 shots of vodka per person per month. Finally, Bulgaria is in fourth place, where people consume approximately 5 shots of vodka per person per month. Even though these numbers can change from time to time, Eastern Europe is responsible for a significant amount of vodka consumption in the world.
Even though vodka is a popular type of alcohol, it is certainly not the only type. Overall, China consumes the most alcohol. This number has not been adjusted per capita, so it should come as no surprise that China consumes the most alcohol in the world because it has the most people. It was estimated that in 2018, China consumed approximately 54 billion liters of alcohol. This is significantly more than the second country on the list, which is the United States. The United States consumed approximately 50 percent of what China consumed. Even though the United States consumes a lot of alcohol, it pales in comparison to China. Of note, China has approximately five times the population of the United States.
It is difficult to figure out what the most popular type of alcohol in the world might be. In Russia and Eastern Europe, it is probably vodka. In the United States, the most popular type of liquor is whiskey, but it might fall significantly short of beer. In the Caribbean, rum might be the most popular type of alcohol. Ultimately, the answer is that it depends on your location in the world. There are lots of different types of alcohol out there, and everyone has their individual preferences. Alcohol is still one of the biggest industries in the world, and it only continues to grow.
