Aircraft and Spacecraft Exports by Country 2024

International trade in aircraft and spacecraft during 2022 totaled US$ 249.4 billion in exports. This trade category includes aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, and related goods. The United States is the leader in aerospace exports, accounting, in 2022, for 41.2% of the worldwide total, which is equal to US$102.8 billion in export trade.

Aerospace exports decreased 26.2% from the high of US$337.9 billion in 2018. The global shutdowns caused by the pandemic are responsible for much of the decline, as new aircraft orders plummeted after travel was restricted.

Nevertheless, orders for new aircraft and parts are picking up again, with a 9.3% gain year-over-year from the previous year (2021) at US$228.2 billion.

Five countries account for 75.5% of the global aerospace exports: the USA, France, Germany, the UK, and Canada. Suppliers located in North America generated 45.6% of the worldwide amount. These are the United States, Canada, and Mexico. They are the dominant players in the marketplace.

European suppliers, led by France, came second with 40.1% of the global supply. Only 11.4% of the aerospace exports came from Asia.

Latin America (excluding Mexico) was responsible for 1.7% of the global exports, with Brazil in that group capturing 1.2%, equivalent to US$3 billion.

Countries in Africa contributed 0.8% of the exports, then the continent of Oceania contributed 0.5%, which was led by Australia.

The most significant growth rates were experienced by China (78.3% increase in exports), Thailand (57.5% increase in exports), Turkey (41.2% increase in exports) and Singapore (0.3% increase in exports).
