LinkedIn is a popular employment-oriented online platform that allows users to display their work experience and knowledge in unique ways. They can showcase their resumes, connect with others in their industries around the world, and even apply for jobs as users of the platform. Because it has such a powerful effect on careers, it’s a platform that is used globally. In this article, we will take a closer look at how LinkedIn is used by countries around the world and some of the statistics associated with it.
By far, the United States is the country that currently has the most LinkedIn users. 236 million users of LinkedIn are located in the United States alone. The closest country to the United States is India, which only has 135.4 million LinkedIn users, as of 2024 data. Brazil and the United Kingdom also have large numbers of users, with 71.1 million and 42.7 million users, respectively.

Other countries that have many millions of users include Indonesia with 27.9 million users, Canada with 26 million, Mexico with 22.8 million, Philippines with 17.7 million, Turkey with 16.4 million, and Australia with 15.9 million.
The platform is also popular in many other major countries. Columbia, Argentina, South Africa, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, and Peru all have 10 million or more users. Countries that have between 8 and 9.9 million users include Chile, U.A.E., Vietnam, Ukraine, and Japan, among others.
On the flip side, many countries have very few LinkedIn users, and some countries don’t have access to it at all. The country that does have access to LinkedIn, but has the lowest number of users, is Tokelau, which has just 1.6K users. Folkland Islands comes in second to last with only 2.9K users.
All the other countries that use LinkedIn have at least 3,000 users. For example, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Montserrat each have 3.1K users. Three countries have between 6,000 and 8,000 LinkedIn users: Liechtenstein (6.3K), Cook Islands (7.8K), and Palau (8K). Overall, 66 countries have the number of LinkedIn users under 100K, 54 between 100K and 500K, and at least 78 countries with a minimum of 1 million users.
