China has the largest concentration of top-tier cities in the region, including Chongqing (10.9M ), Guangzhou (18.5M ), Tianjin (12.4M ), and Shenzhen (20.6M ). Other major Chinese metros such as Nanjing ( 8.6M) and Chengdu ( 15.8M) remain above the ten-million mark.
Beyond China and Japan, Seoul anchors South Korea with 9.2M residents. Together, these metropolitan centers make Eastern Asia one of the most densely urbanized and economically connected regions in the world.
